This is the competition kit which will require a custom tune done locally after you install the kit, and does not include a fuel system, programmer, or tuning. Customers who are looking for a full bolt-on kit should look at the complete kits.
The all-new Gen 6 blower! This updated blower features a revamped rotor package and port design, specifically engineered to lower temperatures and enhance airflow across the entire RPM curve. With these improvements, you can expect an increase of 25-40HP+ compared to the Gen 5 Blower, while maintaining identical boost levels on 91 Octane!
*Notice, Race porting is no longer available through Whipple. If you'd like race porting done to your blower we recommend going with a Third party porting company!

With the new direct injection setup on the 2018 Mustang GT, Whipple Superchargers had their work cut out for them on making a blower that was incredibly efficient while also fitting within the application. This is when the Gen 6 3.0L that we have come to love was born. The 2018s were making insane power, even on mostly stock setups (we made 755rwhp in our 2018 Mustang GT with 93 octane). Whipple knew they needed to adapt the Gen 6 rotor technology into other platforms. First releasing the Gen 6 3.0L for the 2011-2017 Mustang GTs and then the Cobra and GT500 setups after that. And now, it’s time for Whipple to step up the game even more with their new Gen 6 3.8L setup for the 2011-2021 Mustang GT / Boss 302 / Shelby GT350!

Front Inlet vs Rear Inlet
The Whipple front feed system is far superior to other, smaller supercharger rear inlet based SC systems for a very simple reason, less inlet restrictions. The fact is simple, the front entry systems do not require multiple 90deg bends or one sweeping 180deg bend before the SC inlet, which causes unequal rotor filling and lower volumetric efficiency. The new Whipple system only has 1 gradual bend, less than half that of the rear entry style systems.
Rear inlet systems also sacrifice the rear inlet to clear the firewall in most cases, or there’s a big need to slide the SC too far forward, making the discharge pointed up and away from the intercooler core, making the air have to make another turn just to get to the intercooler core. It’s simple, the more work the air has to do, the lower the power gains are going to be.
Side by Side vs the 3.0L
When looking at side-by-side photos of the housings and rotors of both the 3.0L and 3.8L Whipple superchargers, you can see that the designs are similar except for the fact that the 3.8L is much larger. Also, compared to the larger volume 4.0L, the 3.8L is slightly taller however it is roughly 60mm shorter (just over 2 inches), giving it some serious girth while not taking out your firewall in the process.
