Ford Mustang 2015-2023 S550 GForce Performance Renegade Rear Axles, Left and Right

FOR10107A
The all new GForce Engineering Renegade Axles are a direct replacement for factory half-shafts and are designed for cars with everything from mild bolt-ons to those running superchargers and turbos. The Renegade axles are leap above entry level axles. The new Renegade axles are the same strength as the old Outlaw axles at a better price point. If you want the best of the best, look at the new Outlaw axles which have been upgraded to now include ARP bolts, isotropic super-finish polished CV's, and a stronger CV star design as premium offering at an increased price.

Machined from proprietary aerospace billet alloy, the Renegade axles feature an upgraded 31-spline axle bar and 31-spline billet machined CV joints. The additional splines offer more spline engagement and allow for larger diameter axle bars equaling unparalleled strength.

Our standard Outlaw and Renegade have found their home on numerous 750-900hp cars, with many pushing well beyond. Drag racers who are looking to run mid to low 8’s or really get after the short times might consider upgrading to the “exotic” outer stubs, as the standard stub starts to become a weak link. We have had more and more customers pushing the limits of the factory differential in excess of 1400hp. Important to note that any axle can fail at a lower power level due to wheel hop or misuse. The listed numbers should not be an expectation, but an idea for capability. (Exotic outer stub upgrade part number #FOR10110A)

In addition to more spline engagement the billet machined 31-spline CV’s provide more travel and increased operating angle than OEM CV joints. They also provide a significant increase in wear characteristics and durability over standard 108mm CV’s commonly found in axle upgrades.

Description

We are proud of the fact that our S550 axles have set a standard and received an endorsement from and automotive icon as big as Ford Performance in the FRPP axles. This opportunity has paved a path for testing and innovation that have allowed us to put axles behind some of the fastest S550’s in the world. We do offer 9” conversions as well for the customers who do not want to be concerned with any reliability issue stemming from the factory differential.

Renegade axles also include 1-piece CNC machined billet steel inner and outer stubs. Machined from a single piece of billet steel, GForce inner and outer 1-piece stubs are the strongest stub design period.

In addition to increased strength the Renegade axles feature anti-wheel hop technology. Originally brought to market by GM several years ago, all GForce axles feature this same technology and offer a significant reduction in wheel hop during hard launches.

Features:
Anti-Wheel Hop Technology
Direct Bolt-In Fit and Finish
31 Spline Severe-Duty CV’s
1-Piece Inner and Outer Stubs
Aircraft Grade Certified Alloys
CNC-Machined
Powder Coated Axles For Corrosion Protection
Black e-coat finish on inner and outer stubs to protect against harsh conditions without impeding spline engagement

Anti-Wheel Hop Technology
If you’ve attempted to go wide open throttle from a dead stop in your S550 Mustang then you’ve probably experienced bad wheel hop. These heavy duty halfshafts feature anti-wheel hop technology. These halfshafts will reduce the 2015-2021 Mustang wheel hop problem and keep your wheels planted to the ground for better launches and quicker E.T.’s!

Application
Fits 2015-2023 Mustang GT, V6, and Ecoboost

More about GForce Engineering Half-Shafts
Renegade axle bars are made from a billet high alloy aerospace material that is similar to 300m but stronger and with properties we have determined make for a strong and reliable axle bar. Material analysis testing found our material to have a higher tensile strength then 300m.

Our Renegade axles also come with our custom designed, in-house billet CNC machined severe duty CV stars that provide more spline engagement area and travel then OEM cv stars. This results in a considerably stronger and longer wearing CV star. We custom designed our axles and severe duty CV joints to be the strongest axles on the market.

Our inner and outer stubs are a 1-piece CNC machined billet stub. 1-piece stubs give you the strongest design possible.

Damage Prevention
NO DRIVELINE COMPONENT IS BOMBPROOF! GForce does not put a power rating on any driveline components as there are entirely too many variables that can affect a driveline component other than just horsepower. We take great pride in building the strongest driveline components to fit certain applications, but it is important to know that YOU, the end customer, are responsible for proper installation and YOU, as the driver, are responsible for the lifespan of your axles or other driveline components. Most of the applications we are working with are heavy vehicles and we are often asking a lot of the driveline components, be it OEM or aftermarket. These heavier cars, paired with high torque levels make all driveline components more susceptible to failure due to small mistakes, such as wheel hop. Many customers understand that wheel hop, tire shake, tire skipping, tire chatter are all bad things but there is often a misunderstanding of how destructive it can really be. The heavier the vehicle and more torque the vehicle is making, the more your window of forgiveness begins to narrow. This can result in CV’s loosening prematurely and more severely, splined stubs and axle bars twisting or shearing, which is NOT a fault of the axle. So please use your best judgement when driving in any given scenario, be it on the track or the street.

It is worth noting that most wheel hop related issues rarely cause an immediate failure, with certain exceptions. The result of repeated cycling torque spikes will often weaken the material of a given component such as an axle bar or stub shaft. Then each subsequent hit will continue to weaken the component until it fails completely. If you know that you have driven through a particularly abusing situation, it would be wise to pull the axles and assess the splines of the inner and outer stub shafts as a maintenance procedure. If they have started to twist or shift, then you might be able to prevent a more catastrophic failure. We encourage all end users to read up on the appropriate measures that they can take to help prevent wheel hop with their specific vehicle. This can be anything such as aftermarket bushings, shocks, springs, control arms, tire type, or excessively low tire pressure. Two of the most fundamental pieces we look at to help control rear end movement and prevent wheel hop start with the cradle and differential bushings. Both of these bushing sets are often very soft from the factory and although they provide smooth ride quality, they allow a considerable amount of movement in a performance scenario. Which can lead to a number of concerns or issues.

Lowered Vehicle Information
GForce axle shafts were manufactured based on OEM suspension. Aftermarket shocks, control arms, etc. may present clearance issues. If CV boots have clearance issues, low profile boots can be purchased at an upgraded cost. The low profile boots reduce the amount of available axle angle in comparison to the standard boots, so they are not ideal for lowered or high axle angle vehicles. If you have questions or would like to add low profile boots to your axles, please contact us for more information.

Maintenance Information
All driveline components will fatigue or wear over time depending on how the vehicle is driven and what level of performance is demanded from them. CV joints are a wear item and will see wear over time, but with our current design, axles can be sent in for service. So boots, fasteners, and CV assemblies can be serviced without scrapping the complete axle assembly. It is up to each customer to establish their own maintenance intervals based upon the manner in which their car is driven. Individual inner or outer splined stubs and axle bars can be replaced as well if they twist or are damaged due to wheel hop or simply from power levels exceeding capability of the material.
